We are supposed to illustrate our favorite story this semester, with any style or technique we want to.
From when I was a child, I had wished to illustrate my grandmother's stories, especially my favorite story: Shazdeh Ebrahim (Prince Ebrahim)
It was also a while I wanted to learn how to draw the way Iranian artists did in the past (The kind of painting that is called miniature by mistake).
And this was the best chance I could ever have. Our professor encouraged us to use our own folkloric literature and he is also a teacher of classic Iranian painting himself.
He's helped me a lot so far, he's brought me a collection of old paintings .
He allowed me to copy some of the decorations in the computer because my project will take much much more time than what my friends have chosen.
But I wanted to feel directly how those artists in the past created those masterpieces.  I didn't want computers involved in my illustrations (The pages layout and the texts are still going to be done by Adobe Photoshop).
Our great professor accepted my opinion and said I can do less than 15 scenes (which is the specified number for all the students).
However I doubt I can do more than 5, in the 2 months left. If I didn't have to do the really really boring and unnecessary (for me) university subjects, I might have been able to finish at least 10 of them.

My major problem in this is that I don't know as much as I should , about this style of painting and I of course don't have the time to study!
So I just look at the old paintings I have as refrences and decide how to draw my own.
The quality of my art is so poor, compared to what they did. But I'll improve I guess.
I will take photos of each one I finished and upload them. I haven't written the story's text yet, so I'll fill the text spaces with my grandmother's recorded words in our own accent for now. The deviations will be updated when scanned and I'll write the story later.
I frequently use this as my refrence:www.asia.si.edu/exhibitions/on…

My humble opinion is that the style you've chosen truly fits the purpose, bearing that in mind that you're art in fully hand-drawn ! I should congratulate you for the nice and efficient effort !!! :highfive:

I'd just to humbly mention something that's just came to my imagination.I've always tought about how beautiful the visual combination of these two art style can be; NegarGari en-liaison-avec the style practiced by the mastermind,Hukasai ! That may sound a bit weird ,but you know, in Hukasai's paintings the shapes and forms are mostly made out of curving lines while Haraat School tends to use sharp lines n' edges for forming the environmental assets, regarding the perspective.Additionally there's something special about Hukasai's knowledge of coulours and,for sure, lay-out and the methodology of determining the mise-en-scène .

Your magnificently inspiring artwork made me talk too much, I apologizes :( but I'll be more than glad if you'd like to discuss or critique my p.o.v. ,that's for sure.

Thanks so much for your time and consideration.
